Ο Γιώργος Καζάζης ζωγραφίζει αντλώντας τα θέματά του από εύπεπτες φιγούρες περιοδικών και καλά οργανωμένες διακοσμητικές συνθέσεις. Η δομή του έργου του κατακλύζεται από ετερογενή στοιχεία τοπικής και σφαιρικής κουλτούρας. Τα σχήματα, τα χρώματα και οι φιγούρες γεννιούνται από τη γραφιστική λογική των περιοδικών life style και μόδας. Πρόθεση του είναι να δημιουργήσει τον δικό του χώρο στο κόσμο της εικόνας, προσπαθώντας να μας βάλει στη λογική της μαζικής παραγωγής εικόνων που μας περιβάλλουν. Υπάρχει όμως και κάτι ακόμη: τα αφηρημένα μοτίβα σε σχέση με τις πολύ προσεκτικά επιλεγμένες εικόνες, λειτουργούν σαν παιχνίδια που προκαλούν οπτικά. Και αυτό το παιχνίδι είναι πολύ σημαντικό για τη διαδικασία εκτέλεσης του έργου.

Υπάρχει όμως και κάτι ακόμη: τα αφηρημένα μοτίβα σε σχέση με τις πολύ προσεκτικά επιλεγμένες εικόνες, λειτουργούν σαν παιχνίδια που προκαλούν οπτικά. Και αυτό το παιχνίδι είναι πολύ σημαντικό για τη διαδικασία εκτέλεσης του έργου.

George Kazazis is currently painting from magazine images using played-out motifs and well-organized decorative compositions. His paintings are populated with heterogeneous elements of global and urban culture. A complex patterning occurs everywhere. The shapes and silhouettes are familiar, born out of the graphic culture of trendy lifestyle periodicals and fashion magazines. The themes and motifs introduce the artist's preoccupation and interest in the realm of mass produced imagery, which surrounds us and a desire to weave this imagery into his own personal schemes, to create his own space within this virtual world. There is an underlying plainness in the work - the abstract motifs in relation to the selected decorative images operate as visually stimulating games. This sense of play is important to the process, allowing an exploration of the primal compulsion to quite simply "give image" to something.
